Pope Francis made a rosary pilgrimage May 1 to invoke intercession from the Blessed Virgin Mary for peace in Syria. The pope’s pilgrimage was to the Shrine of Our Lady of Divine Love in Rome, where he prayed the rosary along with Catholic visiting the shrine. Pope Francis released an apostolic exhortation in which he aims to “repropose” the universal call to holiness – which he says is the mission of life for every person. Published April 9, Gaudete et exsultate, or “Rejoice and be glad,” is Francis’ third apostolic exhortation.
